Underfloor Heating for a Norwich Renovation

Wet underfloor system set out, zoned and pressure-tested

Location Norwich
Completed March 2026
Service Underfloor Heating
Scope Full wet underfloor heating, zoned manifold, pressure-tested before screed

The Brief

A property in Norwich was being renovated throughout, and the owners wanted warm, even heat with no radiators taking up wall space in the newly opened-up rooms. With the floors already coming up as part of the works, it was the ideal time to fit a wet underfloor heating system that would run efficiently off a modern boiler and leave the walls clear for the new layout.

What We Did

Our work included:

  • Planned the loop layout: We set out the pipe runs room by room so the heat is spread evenly across the whole floor, with no cold spots and the right loop lengths for each space.
  • Prepared the floor: Insulation was laid across the sub-floor and the pipe was clipped down to it, keeping the heat rising into the room rather than escaping downwards.
  • Ran and clipped the pipe loops: Each loop was set out and secured at consistent spacing, tighter to the external walls where more heat is needed, so every room heats evenly.
  • Connected a zoned manifold: Every loop was brought back to a central manifold with its own controls, so different areas of the home can be set to different temperatures for comfort and efficiency.
  • Pressure-tested before screed: The whole system was filled, pressurised and left under pressure, so we could be certain there were no leaks before the screed went down and the floor was covered over.
  • Balanced and commissioned: Once the floor was ready, the manifold was balanced and the controls set up so each zone delivers the right amount of heat.

The Result

A comfortable, quiet and efficient underfloor heating system that turns the whole floor into a gentle, even radiator. With the walls left clear and each zone independently controlled, the renovated space heats evenly and runs at a lower flow temperature that suits the boiler and keeps running costs down. Because every loop was pressure-tested before the screed went down, the owners can be confident the system is sound for the long term.
